"The goal of Garden in the Wood was to seamlessly knit both home and designed space to native space so that one was a natural extension of the other. Both pool and gardens were carefully sited to retain existing hardwood trees which give scale and unity to the space while other trees were selectively culled to create views and give invitation to the spaces beyond." "This terrace garden was designed in collaboration with Adam's Pristine Acres as a lake front retreat. The upper terrace creates an extension of the clients existing living space while also framing the perspective of views from within the home to the water beyond. Naturalized plantings set among boulders and a series of flagstone steps connecting the upper terrace to a stone seating area set at the waters edge create distinct outdoor space while harmonizing with the natural setting."
